Holy Orders
They receive the grace and spiritual power they need to carry out their sacred duties: preaching God’s word, celebrating the sacraments, and guiding God’s people with love and faithfulness. In this way, they continue the work of Christ the Good Shepherd in His Church.
Holy Orders, or Ordination, is a sacrament in the Catholic Church that allows baptised men to be ordained as deacons, priests, or bishops, passing down the mission that Christ entrusted to the Apostles.
Through this sacrament, they are chosen and consecrated for God’s service.
